End of Summer…

We stayed busy this Summer, playing a lot of weddings and our new weekly gig at Café 21 downtown. We’ve been adding some new material to our set, like Baden Powell’s “Berimbau” and “Chan Chan” from Buena Vista Social Club, as well as some new original tunes (and some old ones we’d forgotten about). Last Saturday we played once again at the Mission San Juan Capistrano with percussionist Steve Haney and bassist Sam Johnson for a private event. It’s an awesome setting for a gig, and super fun to play as a quartet! Sam grabbed a photo:

Tango CD, almost done!

We’re in the process of finishing up our album of classic Argentine tangos. We enlisted bassist Sam Johnson to play on the CD, and we’ll being mixing this week. We plan on having a CD release party in San Diego this Fall, so stay tuned!
